STEP BY STEP: HOW TO CREATE A NEW IDEA PIN IN PINTEREST

Pinterest is not only a social media platform for looking for great ideas for crafts and projects in every room of the house, not to mention the newest “getting your nails done” trend, but I have found it to be a great place to grow my business.

If you came here from the link in my bio on Pinterest.com, you have seen my 1st created pin, ^st created pin, which is an “Idea Pin.”  Idea Pins” are vertical content videos that all are familiar with by now from other social media platforms.

How to begin your journey on Pinterest.

1.     Sign up for an account (I chose a business account to grow my business).

2.     Complete profile.

3.     First: search for topics and ideas that interest you or your business (maybe four or five).

4.     Create boards for each of these topics.

5.     Search and save other people’s “Pins” that interest you onto boards you created (this will start driving traffic to you before you create “Pins”).

How to create an “Idea Pin.”

1.     Open your favorite application to create a vertical video (I chose Canva free version).

2.     Use a template or design from scratch (set size as Width: 1080, Height: 1920).

3.     Download your new design to your computer.

4.     Back in Pinterest, click on “Create” in the top left corner

5.     Click “Create Idea Pin,” and click the red button “Create New.”

6.     Upload your finished vertical video to Pinterest.
